KENTUCKY & MTSU HOLD POLE POSITIONS

After the latest round of conference games it is Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State who hold the top spots in their respective divisions.

Kentucky took full advantage of Kennesaw State being on a bye week as they overcame Georgia by a 73-7 scoreline in Athens on Saturday. The Wildcats take top spot thanks to a superior points difference of +94 compared to KSU’s +53. South Carolina visited Tennessee only to leave on the wrong end of a 34-5 defeat, dropping them to bottom of the division. The win moved the Volunteers up to third.

Middle Tennessee State posted an impressive 63-0 victory at home against Auburn. The win takes MTSU to 2-0 in conference play as they sit proudly at the top of Division Two. The result for Georgia Tech at Mississippi State had not been reported at the time of going to press while Memphis and ole Miss had bye weeks.

This week’s games include South Carolina at Alabama, a game that both teams need to win if they hope to keep their season alive. In an equally big game Kentucky travels to Kennesaw State to see who will hold the advantage at top spot going into the second half of the season.

On Division Two four of the teams will be in conference action as leaders Middle Tennessee State plays host to Mississippi State and Memphis are on the road at Ole Miss. Georgia Tech and Auburn have bye weeks.
