TENNESSEE STAYS IN CONTENTION

Division One saw just one game take place over the weekend with Tennessee traveling to Alabama for a big conference game.

Essentially the loser of the game was out of the running to make the SCRC Final in Lexington, KY while the winner stayed in contention. It was the Volunteers who took the spoils and kept their season alive with a 27-20 win. They did not make it easy, however, almost letting a 20-10 halftime lead slide but they held on for the win. Division One will only host one game again this weekend as Alabama travels to Georgia and should be favorites to earn the win despite being on the road.

In Division Two Memphis kept up the pressure on Middle Tennessee State at the top with a fine 41-0 win at Auburn. Ole Miss failed to field a team for the second time this season and Georgia Tech was awarded a 21-0 win for that fixture. Ole Miss are scheduled to be on the road again this weekend at Auburn while Memphis makes the short trip to Middle Tennessee State in a showdown that should realistically provide the regular season division winner.

Due to the number of forfeited games this season, three in total, the conference has implemented a new points system for league standing purposes. It is as follows: Win – 3 points, Draw – 2, Loss – 1, Forfeit – 0.

The new format has been included in the standings shown above with the first tiebreaker being points difference.
