TWO HUGE GAMES ON TAP THIS WEEKEND

As the regular season winds down there is still much to play for in the SCRC. In Division One Kentucky will host rivals, the Tennessee Volunteers with a 1pm kickoff in Lexington. The way that the remaining fixtures are looking this game could be viewed as a “semi-final” with the winners in pole position to reach the final.

Kentucky are currently in second place while Tennessee are hot on their heels. Both teams have a 2-1 record in the conference and both have already lost to Kennesaw State. After Saturday’s game Kentucky still has to travel to South Carolina while Tennessee will play host to Georgia. Both teams are highly favored to win those games which makes Saturday’s match all the more important.

Division Two already has its finalists locked down all but mathematically. Memphis is looking to run the table and go unbeaten as they take on Middle Tennessee State on Saturday. Middle Tennessee State are also unbeaten but two of their wins have come via forfeit. If Memphis can take the spoils then Georgia Tech would have an outside chance of sneaking in to the final. MTSU will be looking to slam the door tightly shut on that happening.

Also in Division Two, Auburn visits Mississippi State as both teams look to find a mid-table finish.

Lat weekend saw just the one game take place in the whole of the conference. Memphis went to Mississippi State and left the victors with a fine 31-19 win to keep them in pole position.
